This is the beginnings of my first 'made from scratch' guitar! I got rather sick of my current guitar and wanted a new challenge, so I decided that, as someone who works with wood all day it would be a pretty poor show if I didn't have a go myself!

The head/neck still has a long way to go, but here's a quick shot of it after the initial carving has been completed. I have a rough idea of where the design's going, but generally just letting things evolve as I go!

I'll upload some more shots when it starts to really take shape!

Thanks so much for your interest in my work. I actually drilled the holes with a micro drill bit (about 0.5mm in diameter)& a micro carving burr (once again, 0.5mm or less) from Dremel.

It was a very easy technique that achieved a really nice 'textured' result - well I thought it did anyway! Thanks again, & If you'd like to know anything else at all, feel free to contact me again!

Your skills are stunning. I always admired people who could do woodwork, since that material (or perhaps the teacher I had) never agreed with me.

Congratulations to your well-deserved Daily Deviation. i must say, you are a great inspiration.

Incredible! I've never seen one like this, such a brilliant idea! My dad builds instruments from scratch also.
